Ujfalusi played every minute of the Czechs' World Cup qualifying campaign so he can take more credit than most for them finally making football's biggest carnival. The Fiorentina defender has been almost impossible to dislodge from the national side since making his debut in 2001 and was crucial to their qualification play-off win, helping them completely shut-out Norway in both legs. After coming to prominence with Sigma Olomouc, Ujfalusi was snapped up by German side Hamburg, where he spent three years before the Viola came in for him. He has not looked back since, helping them mount a surprise title challenge this year.
