Key Players: Cristiano Ronaldo proved to be Portugal's most incisive force in Euro 2004 and the Manchester United midfielder has continued to be more effective for country than club ever since. Barcelona's Deco is the central attacking pivot while Ricardo Carvalho musters the defences.
Form Guide: In qualifying Scolari's side were rampant, winning nine of their 12 matches, scoring 35 goals and finishing seven points clear of Slovakia. Having said that, their group was more comfortable than most.
